Frontier Markets has built a platform to connect Last Mile customers and product/services that otherwise would not have access to each other. We focus on consumer durables—from solar lighting, to home appliances, to smartphones—as well as digital services—from 4G data packages, to financial and educational services. We curate our offerings by listening to and learning from our customers—and then we work with product and service companies to identify the right product to test, and ultimately, deliver to those customers that meet their needs and their target price point. Our on-the-ground staff works directly with communities to market products, collect customer information, make sales, deliver products, and provide after sales service. In short, we own the end-to-end value chain, ensuring that our customers get superlative service from start to finish.

We are committed to fast delivery and customer support—and so we have built branch offices, all located within 5KM of the villages we serve to guarantee a 48-hour turnaround time.

E-Commerce Platform

We provide our women and local staff with e-commerce technology to make the end-to-end process seamless and automated. We also get valuable data to better serve our customers.


We serve rural families located in India’s Last Mile. They look at the Sahelis’ catalogue, and see and touch demo units of the products—they can even take them home to try.

3. They purchase the product or service in cash.

They tell the Saheli what they want to purchase and gives her cash. The Saheli places her order for delivery on her e-commerce app.

4. The purchase arrives to their home within 48 hours.

Frontier Markets arrives at the customer’s house within 48 hours to deliver and install the product. If there is ever an issue, a Frontier Markets staff will be there in 48 hours also.

5. They stay in touch with their Sahelis for new products and services.

The Saheli visits their home regularly to share about newly available products and services, and is always accessible to customers who want her to visit so they can make a purchase.
