OUR BENEFICIARIES

Low-income rural agriculture households (HH) in India with no to little electricity access with a HH income level of between $1-4 per day. Not having clean energy solutions is expensive. Low-income households spend a highshare of their disposable income on fuels for heating, lighting and cooking.
The lack of clean energy access is a formidable barrier for inclusive economic growth. As such, their needs go beyond basic access to electricity. They require reliable and stable power for their productivity, safety and aspiration needs. Many customers use their Frontier Markets lighting product for their work and to create social and economic opportunity. Access to lighting has allowed them to extend their productive hours such as farming, household activities and chores or studying after dark.
Men and women with limited income opportunities living in rural India.
Women are disproportionately affected by energy challenges, are typically excluded from commercial value chains, and are often socially marginalized. They have dependents to support and are eager to earn income. They are living on less than $3.10 per day and thus require income-generating opportunities for poverty alleviation, and social and economic empowerment.
